Amazon Policy

Last updated: March 2026. This policy describes how StarQuester integrates with Amazon Seller Central, the data we access, and your and our responsibilities when using our platform with your Amazon account.

Overview

StarQuester LLC ("StarQuester," "we," "us") operates StarQuester, a third-party tool that helps Amazon sellers automate compliant review and feedback requests. We connect to your Seller Central account via Amazon's Selling Partner API (SP-API) and use only the data and permissions needed to provide our features. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.

Access to Your Amazon Account

When you connect your Amazon Seller Central account to StarQuester, you grant us permission to access certain data through the SP-API. This may include:

  • Order and fulfillment data: order IDs, status, purchase and delivery dates, ASIN/SKU, and related metadata so we can determine when orders are eligible for review requests and sync this data to your dashboard.
  • Solicitation (Request a Review): we use Amazon's official APIs to check eligibility and to send product review and seller feedback requests only through Amazon's approved "Request a Review" (solicitation) system. We do not send custom emails to buyers; all review requests go through Amazon's system.

Authorization is done through Amazon's official OAuth flow in Seller Central. We store only the tokens and credentials necessary to call the API on your behalf, and we encrypt them at rest. We do not sell, share, or use your Amazon data for advertising or any purpose other than providing our services. You may revoke our access at any time from within Seller Central.

Compliance with Amazon Policies

StarQuester is designed to comply with Amazon's seller and communication policies, including:

  • Use of Amazon's official "Request a Review" / solicitation APIs only—no custom buyer emails for review requests.
  • No incentives (e.g., discounts, refunds, free products) in exchange for reviews.
  • No selective solicitation (e.g., only positive-experience buyers) or review manipulation.
  • Adherence to Amazon's Data Protection Policy (DPP), Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), and Solution Provider requirements for handling API data.

It remains your responsibility to ensure that your use of StarQuester and your seller account comply with Amazon's Terms of Service, Seller Code of Conduct, and review/communication policies. Amazon may suspend or take action against seller accounts for policy violations; StarQuester is not responsible for such actions.

Data Security and Retention

We protect Amazon-sourced data with technical and organizational measures consistent with Amazon's Data Protection Policy, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and secure credential storage. We retain order-related and API data only as long as necessary to provide our services and as required by Amazon's DPP (e.g., retention limits for order data). For details, see our Data Policy.

If you revoke access or your account is terminated, we will delete or anonymize Amazon data in accordance with our Data Policy and Amazon's deletion requirements.

Limitations

Amazon may change its API, policies, or features at any time. We will use reasonable efforts to adapt our platform and to inform you of material changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free integration. We are not liable for any loss resulting from Amazon's actions, API changes, or your or our suspension or termination of the integration.
